Event Overview

With so much said and written about innovation and future-thinking, law firms could be forgiven for feeling overwhelmed.  In this session, Katherine Thomas and Sue-Ella Prodonovich provide a lifeline to law firms of all sizes wondering how they can tackle the innovation and new product development agenda.

Katherine will share her story of co-founding flexible resourcing hub Vario and will provide insights from the lessons she learned along the way.  Convinced that there are enough diagrams and flow-charts on this topic, Katherine will inspire by sharing the alternative view of innovation that isn’t told in books, papers or articles.  Be prepared for a practical, personal and, at times, unpredictable adventure across the bumpy terrain that is ‘doing something new and innovative’.

Law firm strategy expert Sue-Ella Prodonovich will join us from Sydney to provide valuable insight on innovation in the Australian professional services sector from both the client and people side.

So, how should you go about testing and implementing a new idea and what are the pitfalls to be aware of?

This session will explore:
  • Why focusing on the client is key
  • Innovation and design - NPD, R&D, idea generation and innovation
  • Market testing and due diligence
  • KPIs, ROI and the Feedback loop
  • Learnings from the Vario case study
